What to check
- Harness size and adjustments: it has to fit your body

- Closing loops, pins, flaps, and wear inside the pack
- Date of manufacture, service history, and any manufacturer notices
Fit and discipline
Different containers suit different disciplines and body sizes. If you are between sizes or unsure, ask the manufacturer or a certified rigger before you buy.
Questions to ask the seller

- Any repairs, modifications or replaced parts?
- Has it been in a hard landing or a reserve deployment?
