Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Skydive Buy & Sell (CloudCircuit LLC, "we," "us") collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Use. The Site is intended for users in the United States and is not for anyone under 18.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your email address, display name, and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider). We also keep the email you signed up with and the contact details you choose to save. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, that company shares your email address and basic profile details (such as your name and a profile picture link) with us. We use the email address to run your account and show only the display name you choose.
- Listings: titles, descriptions, details (such as make, model, size, dates, and condition), photos, prices, location, and the contact information you provide for the listing.
- Offers and conversations: interest requests, offers, messages, the contact information you share with another user, and whether a deal was accepted or completed. When you confirm a purchase, you may also tell us the final price you paid. As a buyer or a seller, you may tell us what was paid and where the sale happened. This is always optional.
- Reviews, vouches, questions and answers, comments, and reports you submit, including what you write about other users. When you vouch, you can also tell us that you saw the person's current USPA membership card, and we keep when you said so. We never ask for or keep USPA membership numbers.
- Gear alerts: if you save one, what you are looking for (type of gear, words, highest price, location, condition), and which listings matched it.
- Anything else you send us, such as an email to our contact address.
Information we collect automatically
- Activity: pages and listings you view, actions you take (such as posting, editing, vouching, messaging, and reporting), and when. Today we keep simple view counts for listings, profiles, and pages that only moderators and administrators can see. We may also record, link to your account, and analyze your activity on the Site, for example to prevent abuse, moderate, and improve the Site. We will update this Policy if our practices change.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps, which our hosting, database, and authentication providers generally log for security and operations.
- Browser storage: see our Cookie and Storage Notice.
Information from other users
Other users may share information about you, for example in messages, reviews, and reports.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and run the Site, including accounts, listings, offers, messages, reviews, and reputation.
- Moderate content and users, enforce our Terms, and review reports, including by reading messages and conversations.
- Protect the safety and security of users, the Site, and others, and detect and prevent fraud, scams, abuse, and other harmful or unlawful activity.
- Analyze, test, and improve the Site and develop new features.
- Create anonymous market value information from confirmed sales and from sales that buyers or sellers report (we keep each person's report, even when two reports about the same sale differ), such as item type, brand, model, size, condition, age, listed price, final price, time to sell, and how much interest the listing got (views, offers, and questions). These records contain no names or contact details. If you report a past sale yourself, we also keep a private link to your account so staff can stop fake reports. Only staff can see it.
- Keep anonymous, combined counts of what people search for on the Site (for example, a gear model), and whether anything was found. These counts have no names, accounts, or contact details attached, and we never keep searches that look like an email address, phone number, or web address.
- Send the gear alert emails you ask for, and keep anonymous, combined counts of what members are looking for, with no names attached, so we know what gear people want.
- Communicate with you, for example confirmation emails, notices about the Site, and replies to your requests.
- Process payments for paid features through our payment provider.
- Follow the law, respond to legal requests, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
- Carry out any other legitimate business purpose that is compatible with the above, or that we describe to you or you agree to.
4. Who can see your information
- The public (not signed in) can see listing titles, prices, categories, and first photos.
- Signed-in users can see full listings, seller names and reputation (sales, purchases, reviews, vouches and who gave them, USPA card checks and who made them, badges and trusted status, whether an account is on hold, moderator-approved reports, and completed-deal history), questions and answers, and display names.
- The seller or buyer you deal with sees what you send them: your message, offer, and contact information. A seller's contact information is shown to a buyer only if the seller accepts that buyer and shares it.
- Moderators and administrators can see account information (including your sign-up email), listings, contact information, reports, reputation records, and activity data. Administrators may read any conversation. Moderators may read conversations that are reported or relevant to safety or enforcement. Private messages are not confidential from us.
- Your gear alerts are private to you. Staff see only combined counts, with no names.
- Service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, database and file storage, sign-in and email delivery, bot protection, and payment processing, currently including Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Cloudflare, and Shopify) handle information for us under their own terms. If you choose to sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, that company handles your sign-in under its own terms.
- Legal and safety. We may share information if we believe it is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect people's safety, prevent fraud, or enforce our rights.
- Business changes. If the Site is sold or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that deal.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
5. How long we keep information
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. This immediately removes your sign-in, your name and email, your saved contact details, your live listings, your comments, your gear alerts, and the vouches you gave and received. Your public profile becomes "Deleted user." If you signed in with Google or Facebook, this also removes the details we got from them, and you can remove Skydive Buy & Sell from the apps connected to your Google or Facebook account at any time.
- Short-term safety records. To prevent fraud and resolve disputes, we keep some records for a limited time after you delete your account, then permanently delete them: conversations and offers, completed-deal history and reviews connected to other users, and reports and moderation records. We keep these for up to 12 months after you delete your account.
- Records while accounts are active. Closed conversations are deleted 12 months after the deal ends. Decided reports are deleted 24 months after the decision. Rejected listings are deleted 12 months after they were rejected. Photos from sold listings are deleted 90 days after the sale, and photos from rejected listings after 30 days. Photo files that no listing uses are deleted automatically. Records of moderator and administrator actions, including account holds, are kept for 24 months. Gear alerts stay until you remove them or delete your account.
- Anonymous sale records. Records of confirmed or reported sales, and combined search counts, that contain no names or contact details are kept so the value guide stays accurate, even after an account is deleted. The private link between a past-sale report and the account that sent it is removed after 24 months, and within about 12 months after that account is deleted.
- Recoverable archive. So that mistakes can be undone, content that a moderator or administrator removes, earlier versions of edited listings, and earlier versions of site text are kept in a recoverable archive for up to 90 days (up to 12 months for site text), and then permanently deleted.
- Longer when required. We may keep information longer when the law requires or allows it, for example during a legal claim or investigation. Payment and tax records for paid features are kept by our payment provider under its own policies.
- Backups. Deleted data may remain in backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can update your display name and saved contact information on the Site, edit or remove your listings, download a copy of your information, and delete your account yourself, all from your profile page.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing support@skydivebuyandsell.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the time the law requires. We may decline a request where the law allows, for example where we must keep records, and we will explain why.
- Depending on where you live (for example California and some other states), you may have additional rights, such as to know what we collect, to correct or delete data, and to not be treated worse for using your rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
- You can opt out of non-essential emails. We will still send account and safety messages.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypted connections and access controls, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Use a strong, unique password and protect your account.
8. Children
The Site is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
We operate in the United States and handle information in the United States. If you use the Site from elsewhere, you understand your information will be sent to and handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from yours.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date and may notify you on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept it.
11. Links to other websites
The Site may link to other websites, such as USPA, manufacturers, and suppliers, in good faith. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information. Please read their privacy policies.
