Guidelines and policies
These are the rules for using Skydive Buy & Sell. Accounts must accept them, along with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Cookie and Storage Notice below. Breaking a rule can get a listing removed or an account suspended.
The rules
- Be 18 or older. One person, one account.
- Be honest about your gear. Describe it accurately, including its age, jump numbers, repairs, and any damage. Use your own photos.
- Never sell gear you know is unsafe, out of date, or out of compliance with a service bulletin.
- Get used gear inspected by a certified parachute rigger before you jump it. This site does not inspect, approve, or guarantee any gear or person.
- Only list gear you own and can legally sell. No stolen or counterfeit gear.
- Keep contact details out of listings and your bio. They are shared only through a deal. Attempts to get around this are logged for staff.
- No scams or payment pressure. Never ask for money before the buyer can verify you and the gear.
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, discrimination, or spam.
- Follow the law and safety rules: aviation rules such as the FAA's, manufacturer instructions and service bulletins, and recognized safety standards such as USPA's.
- Report anything that looks wrong, and pick the reason that fits. Moderators review every report. False scam reports can get an account suspended.
- Vouch honestly. Only vouch for people you know and would buy gear from. Fake or traded vouches can get an account suspended.
How a sale works
- Browse without an account. Sign in to see full details, ask questions, and show interest.
- Sellers post gear. A moderator checks new listings before they go live. Listings from verified riggers, verified gear shops, and trusted members go live right away, and anyone can still report them.
- Buyers send interest with an offer, a message, or both. The seller can accept, keep talking, wait, or decline.
- When a seller accepts, contact details are shared so you can arrange the sale yourselves.
- After the sale, the buyer confirms it and both people can review each other.
- Can't find what you want? Save a gear alert, and we email you when matching gear is listed.
How trust works
- Confirmed deals and reviews. After a sale, the buyer confirms it and both people can review each other. Only confirmed deals count.
- Vouches. Established members can vouch for people they know, with their own name on it.
- USPA card checks. Someone who vouches for you can add that they saw your current USPA membership card themselves. It is their word, with their name on it, and it shows for 12 months. This site is not part of USPA and cannot check memberships.
- Reports. A moderator decides each report. Upheld reports show on the member's profile.
- Trusted members are picked by the site's staff for a long, honest record. Their listings go live without review, and they can take down a listing that looks unsafe or like a scam. Every takedown is logged, and the seller sees why and can fix it.
- Verified riggers and gear shops are checked by an administrator. Riggers can take down unsafe listings too.
- Community holds. When several trusted members or verified riggers report the same account as a scam, it goes on hold until a moderator decides. While on hold, its listings are hidden and it cannot message, make offers, or post. A hold is a safety step, not a verdict.
What this site does and does not do
- We connect buyers and sellers. We never handle payments or shipping.
- Conversations are private between the two people. Moderators can read a conversation if it is reported, and administrators may review conversations to keep the site safe.
- Verified rigger and verified gear shop badges mean an administrator checked an FAA certificate or a business. Trusted status, vouches, and reviews are opinions about a member's record. None of them is a guarantee, and "Featured" is not an endorsement.
- Think we got a decision wrong? Email support@skydivebuyandsell.com and we will take a second look.
- We are independent. We are not affiliated with USPA, any manufacturer, dropzone, or other organization. A link is not an endorsement.
- Photos you upload are watermarked with this site's name.
