Used reserve canopies for sale
A reserve parachute is your backup, and it has to work the first time. That makes buying a used one different from buying almost anything else: records, age and inspection matter more than price.

Reserve canopies listed right now
Sellers write their own listings. Have a certified parachute rigger inspect used gear before you jump it.
Records and age
- The date of manufacture, and the manufacturer’s age or service guidance
- The last repack date and who packed it
- Whether it has ever been deployed, and how it was inspected afterward
- Any repairs, modifications, or manufacturer notices
Fit with the container
A reserve must be an approved match for the container it will live in, based on the manufacturer’s size ranges. A reserve that physically fits is not automatically approved for that container. Ask a rigger to confirm.
Always involve a rigger
Have a certified parachute rigger (in the US, FAA-certificated) inspect and pack a used reserve before you jump with it. Do not rely on the seller’s word alone, and be cautious of a seller who discourages an inspection.
Red flags
- No records or paperwork
- A seller who is unsure of its history
- A price far below similar items
- Pressure to pay before you can inspect it
