Parachute riggers and skydiving gear shops
Have every used rig inspected by a certified parachute rigger before you jump it. Here is how to find one, and the riggers and gear shops verified on this site.
How to find a rigger
- Ask at your dropzone. Most dropzones have a rigger or a loft on site, and the staff know who does good work. Find a dropzone through USPA.
- Check the certificate. Ask for the rigger's full name and look it up on the FAA Airmen Inquiry. You want to see Parachute Rigger, Senior or Master. Master riggers can also do major repairs.
- Before you buy used gear, have a rigger inspect the whole rig: harness and container, both canopies, the AAD, and the reserve data card.

Check gear with the maker
Manufacturers publish manuals, service bulletins, and service-life limits. Check them before you buy, and ask your rigger who made each part.
